Does Your School's Work Show on Decision Day?
Every teacher's feedback, coach's read and counselor's conversation shapes a student's next step. I help schools bring that work together so it's reflected on decision day.
A Counselor Who Understands the School Behind the Student
I've spent 25 years inside K-12 schools, teaching every grade from Pre-K through twelfth and collaborating with every department of a school. That range shapes how I work. I know how a school fits together because I've worked inside every part of it. Having led a school counseling office myself, I understand the many demands counselors balance, from supporting students and communicating with families to coordinating with colleagues and managing the details that keep the process moving.

Every Student Can Be Seen Clearly by Admissions Teams
Your teachers, coaches and advisors know special details about each student that never show up on a transcript. Good counseling makes sure that knowledge reaches families and admissions teams when it matters.
Done well, it also builds trust with current families, prospective families and alumni, who see how well the school represents its students to new schools.
Where the Pieces Don't Connect
The people supporting your students are often doing excellent work. I help with the hard part, connecting that work so families feel guided and nothing gets lost in the gaps.
When teachers are unsure what information matters, schools can lose chances to represent students fully and keep families informed. I pinpoint those gaps with your team and strengthen the systems around them.
Where I Can Help
Three ways to build on what your team already does well.
Recommendation Writing
Your teachers know these students well, but recommendations land on top of a full teaching load. I give them a simple process, clear expectations and approaches that work, so each letter tells admissions what only your teachers can.
Family Presentations & Workshops
Choosing a school is personal, and the process brings a range of expectations and emotions. Much of the work your school does for families happens behind the scenes. My presentations and workshops meet families where they are and help them understand the care and coordination behind their child's experience, so they leave better informed, more at ease and ready to partner with your school.
Secondary School Counseling
Each member of your faculty holds part of a student's story. I help you build a counseling process that brings what they know together, from school lists to admissions relationships, whether you're starting fresh or refining what you have.
Each area can include training for the faculty, staff and administrators involved.
Additional Ways I Work With Schools
Beyond these core areas, schools bring me in for new needs, practices that need a refresh and focused projects.
Team Training & Process Design
Equipping teachers, advisors and administrators with clear processes and a shared language to guide families as they prepare to apply to new schools.
Connecting the Pieces
Examine how teams share information, coordinate support and prepare graduating students for what's next. Identify ways to make the process clearer for students, teachers and families.
Outcomes & Placement Strategy
Building the systems, data and storytelling that help families succeed in your school and carry that success into the schools they apply to next.
Guidance Through Busy Season
Experienced, hands-on support when your counseling team is stretched. Whether helping a new counselor handle unexpected situations with more confidence or guiding outgoing families through application season when a counselor is unavailable, I bring perspective, practical help and a steady hand when it matters most.

Let's Talk About Your SchoolFAQ
Working with your team
How would you work with our counseling staff?
As an extension of your team. I can guide outgoing families during a busy season, build out systems or train staff, always with the goal of a more confident, independent team. See the partnership options.
If we don't have a full-time counselor, what role would you play?
Whatever role fits your school. I start by learning your needs and looking at past, current and future classes. From there I might present to families as a year-long liaison, step in at key moments like building school lists or work behind the scenes to strengthen your systems.
Would you work with departments beyond our counseling office?
Every department plays a part in a student's next step, and I've worked with all of them, from classrooms and learning support to athletics and advising. I can join whichever team needs me.
Can you present to our families?
Presenting to families is a regular part of my work. I lead admissions nights, parent workshops and sessions on transitions, each shaped around the questions your parents are asking, and build take-home guides so what families learn stays with them long after the evening ends.
Fit and format
What size or type of school do you work with?
Schools of every size and type. I've worked with independent day, boarding and parochial schools, from city schools to rural campuses, and adapt to each school's systems and needs.
Will you be on campus, or are you accessible remotely?
Both. I come to campus for key moments like presentations and family meetings and work with your team remotely between visits. The mix depends on your school's needs and calendar.
Is this a one-time project or an ongoing relationship?
It can be either. Some schools bring me in for a defined project, like systems development or a training session, and others keep me on as an ongoing resource through admissions season. See how I partner with schools.
